The
Concept 2™ Model D ergometer will be used
You may use the damper setting of your choice, but the setting may not
be changed during the race. All races are 2000 meters.
ERG
Scores
Everyone must submit their most recent 2000 meter ergometer
score. Be honest . . . or you'll be sorry! You do not need a qualifying
time in order to race at the C.R.A.S.H.-B.s, but we do ask for your
erg score so that we may seed you appropriately. If you want to
earn a sponsored trip from Concept2, please click here
for qualifying times for the C.R.A.S.H.-B.s.
No Pseudonyms
or False Names
It is often critical that C.R.A.S.H.-B.
staff
contact or find an entrant before or during race day. Our efforts
to do so are often complicated or completely frustrated if the entrant
does not provide us with accurate information. For these reasons,
you may not enter under a pseudonym or false name. Persons using a
false name will be disqualified. Furthermore, you may not row for
someone else, under their entry. Picture ID's will be required at
registration.
No
substitutions
You may not row for a sick or absent person. If you do so, you will be
disqualified.
Shirts/Uniforms
You must wear a shirt and/or unisuit during competition.
Finals - Only
We have a finals-only format in ALL events. You will row
only once. Participants will be seeded, based upon erg scores
submitted on the entry form, so that each rower will compete against
other rowers of comparable abilities. The best time will win each
event.
We seed competitors according to their ability as best we can.
However, if you are a legitimate contender for a medal, do not assume
that the people in your row of ergs are necessarily the fastest people
in your event. So, here's a piece of advice: Row your
hardest, best piece, no matter what. We will not entertain complaints
that you would have rowed faster if you had your competition rowing
next to you.
Open and
Lightweight Events
Events 1 and 2 are unrestricted (openweight and no age limitation) for
men and women. Events 3 and 4 are restricted to lightweight men and
women (165 pounds or less for men; 135 pounds or less for women), with
no age limitations.
There is a Collegiate division in each
of Events 1-4, which is restricted to entrants from U.S. colleges.
Medals will be awarded to the top collegiate rowers in each of Events
1-4. The fastest collegiate rowers will be eligible to win the overall
awards for Events 1-4, as well.
For spectator appeal, the very
top-seeded rowers in each of Events 1-4 (which may include collegiate
rowers) may race as a group, and the next best-seeded collegiate
rowers may race as a group. This will not affect the awarding of
prizes. Prizes will be awarded to the top overall finishers (which may
or may not include a collegiate rower) in each of Events 1-4. In
addition, separate prizes will be awarded to the top Collegiate
finishers in each of Events 1-4.
Lightweight
Divisions (165 lbs or
less for men; 135 lbs or less for women)
In addition to the Lightweight Event, there are Lightweight
Divisions within the Junior, Master, Senior, and Veteran events. If you enter the lightweight division of an event, you
will be eligible to win a prize only as a lightweight. In other words,
we will not be awarding multiple medals to one athlete (even if, for
example, a lightweight's score puts him or her among the top three
openweight rowers in his or her event).
Veterans
Events
Prizes will be awarded to veterans within
five-year age categories, based on raw (unhandicapped) scores.
Prizes will be awarded in both the openweight and lightweight
divisions for each five-year age category. As a result, the
overall prize for veterans age 50 or over also has been eliminated.
Coxswain
Events
Participants must be primarily a coxswain (be honest!) and
cannot exceed the maximum coxswain weight (130 pounds for men, 120
pounds for women). There are no age restrictions.
Age Restrictions
- Junior Event participants must
have been born on or after January 1, 1990 and not be on
a collegiate program. No one under the age of 14 may row in the
C.R.A.S.H.-B.
Sprints.
- For all other Events, age is
as of race day.
Weigh-in for
Lightweight and Coxswain Events
(Lwts - 165 lbs or less for men; 135 lbs or less for women;
Coxswains - 130 lbs for men, 120 lbs for women)
Lightweight and Coxswain Events must weigh-in on race day.
Names will be checked against scheduled
starting times in the weigh-in rooms. In
order to compete in the lightweight category, a competitor MUST be
stamped by a weigh-in official upon successfully weighing in. Any
competitor missing a stamp verifying they have successfully weighed
in will not be allowed to compete in that category. Any
competitor who failed to weigh in will race in his/her originally
seeded time slot, but the score will then count in the OPEN division
of that particular event.
One Hour Rule: Lightweights must weigh-in
within a 1-hour time frame, and the weigh-in must be completed at
least 1 hour before your event. Lightweights should start to weigh
in 2 hours before their race. Example: your heat time is at 9:30.You
must complete weigh-in between 7:30 and 8:30 AM. Your name, event
number, or erg number will be checked against existing heat entries.
Weigh-in will open at 7am and will
close at 1:15, but it is the competitor's responsibility to know when
Weigh In is open for him/her.
Entry
Confirmation and Race Schedule
Entry confirmation will be posted on our website mid February
for all competitors submitting an entry form and full payment by the
deadline.

of Rules
The meaning and application of these rules will be determined solely
by the C.R.A.S.H.-B.

Committee. All decisions and deliberations of the Race Committee will
be secret, arbitrary, and final. NO WHINING...
